30x40" Mixed Media.

Nature Collection
June Blessings
2007 | SOLD

30x40" Oil on canvas. Currently on display at Shreveport Regional Airport, presented as a part of the Shreveport Artport Exhibit. In mid-June, when the sun is overhead, the farmers and homeowners in north Caddo Parish show off their spring plantings of sunflowers. It's a wonderful opportunity to photograph them en masse or individually, and then compose paintings representive of the event. Here you see two paintings in this series. Look for others to be added.

Sunflower Blues
Private Collection

20x36" Oil on canvas. My favorite daughter-in-law chose the colors of blue and yellow for her kitchen when she and my son married almost 4 years ago. Knowing her favorite flower was the sunflower, I painted this for them as a wedding gift from a photograph I took at our local "sunflower trail."

A Philippine Sari-Sari
1997 | Private Collection

9x12" Oil on canvas. My oldest son went to the Philippines on a summer mission trip prior to graduating from Baylor University in 1997. I painted this small store from a photograph he took while he was there. This was the first "graduation painting" I did.

Malibu Coast
2007 | Private Collection

24x30" Oil on canvas. When my youngest son graduated from the University of Southern California in May of 2007, I continued my tradition of painting something special for each of my sons when they graduated. Since he was living in California I thought nothing was better than a reminder of the beautiful coast along Malibu. I painted this after the original artist.

Ode to Tree
Private Collection

22x28" Oil on canvas. I painted this in memory of a favorite tree that grew just outside my back door for over 20 years. One day we were having some trees cut down in our yard, and the worker cut this one down by mistake. I was sick with grief for a long time, and then decided to paint it so that I could remember it. Then I was able to move on.

Tomatoes on a Sill
2007 | $275.00 plus S/H

24x48" Oil on canvas. My friend, Glynace, who travels to France every summer, took photographs for me to hang in my gallery. I loved a photo of tomatoes and plants she found on a window sill and painted it, with liberties, of course!

Triptych: Spontaneity
2007 | $875.00 plus S/H

3 pieces of 18x24" Oil on canvas. A spontaneous outpouring of emotion found its way into this depiction of one of my favorite subjects, trees. The movement in the branches from one canvas to the other is my favorite part.

Belize Fan Palm
2007 | $850.00 plus S/H

69x47" Oil on canvas. This amazing example of tropical foliage in the country of Belize caught my eye as we toured the countryside. The flatness of the foliage set it apart from other types of palm trees in the area.

Deborah’s Italy
2008 | SOLD

16x20" Oil on canvas. My friend Deborah takes high school students to Europe each spring. Italy is her favorite place, and when she commissioned a painting to depict an Italian window box, I painted this for her. She loves it!

Still Life Collection
Blue Vase
1995 | Private Collection

20x24" Oil on canvas. Sunflowers are special in our area of the country. I have painted several of different types and in different painting styles. This is one of my earliest paintings of sunflowers and one of my favorites.

Portrait Collection
Nude I
2003 | NFS

18x24" Oil on canvas. This is the beginning of a series of nudes I am painting. The second one in the series should be completed this summer. The rest of the series will be for sale.

Self-Portrait, unfinished
NFS

24x36" Oil on canvas. This painting is from a photograph of me at age 4. I began the painting several years ago, and have not finished it because I really like how it looks as it is. I may finish it in the future. Who knows?

Girl with Umbrella
2007 | $550.00 plus S/H

30x40" Oil on canvas. I attended a photography workshop in Maine a year and a half ago. One of our assignments was to photograph locals who were watching the Fourth of July parade. This young lady had a style I found appealing, and asked for permission to photograph her. She agreed. I wish I could show her this painting that came from that photograph. I know she would be thrilled!
